MEET... MR. GORGEOUS!
Burlesque Performer / Costume Designer / Professional Idiot.
DESCRIBE WHAT YOU DO:
Take my clothes off in public – and make people laugh.
EARLIEST SLIPPER ROOM MEMORY:
Many many years ago I was in New York and stumbled into (the old) Slipper Room! It was like a dream come true to see all the wacky visuals I had in my head LIVE on stage! Slipper Room is unlike any performance venue in the world.
WHO'S BEEN THE MAJOR INFLUENCE IN YOUR WORK?:
Dina Martina – PLEASE go see her if you haven't!!! Pure genius. Any performer who is honest and funny on stage always catches my eye.
CAREER HIGHLIGHT SO FAR:
I've had many that I'm super thankful for. Its hard to pick one. I've had the chance to perform on tour with Dita Von Teese, guest perform with Melody Sweets in the Absinth tent in Las Vegas – perform at Life Ball in Vienna! I've headlined numerous burlesque festivals worldwide and partied and performed with Susanne Bartsch! I'm very thankful for all of these memorable experiences.
MEMORABLE SLIPPER ROOM MOMENT:
I have had many memorable moments at Slipper Room. One that occurs often is performing at the end of a Friday or Saturday with Uncle Earl!!! He closes out the evening singing “Sweet Caroline”. The whole cast dances on stage, the audience sings, and everyone finishes off the evening on a major high!!!!
WHERE CAN WE FIND YOU AFTER THE GIG?:
After my gigs I'm often hanging at the bar for one last drink (s) before stumbling back to the subway. My very last stop of the evening is almost always the taco truck outside of my apartment!
WHAT'S NEXT FOR YOU?:
Live performances! Video! Costumes!
Boys' Night: An All-Male Cirquelesque, which happens every first Thursday of the month!
and – a visit to that taco truck I mentioned earlier!
